4 Easy Steps To Get Into Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is a well known relaxation technique, but it also can be used to ease many health related issues. Wether you’re looking to improve your health or just want to find a new way to relax, you may be interested to follow easy four steps how to get into aromatherapy.

Aromatherapy uses essential oils which can be extracted from flowers, seeds, barks, herbs, and roots. While there is not much evidence to support its effectiveness in treating or preventing any illness, aromatherapy has been found to be an effective complimentary therapy method.

1  - Burn Essential Oils

Aromatherapy oil burner works by heating a few drop of essential oils in a water bowl set above a tea light candle. Aromatherapy oil burner is the easiest way to benefit from essential oil’s scent.

Stop Cold and Flu

Clean your home and protect your loved ones from harmful germs and viruses. Burn essential oils in a diffuser or aromatherapy burner during the flu season to prevent the spreading of the flu virus. Add a few drops of Tea Tree, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Lemon or Lavender into your burner or a diffuser to fight the flu virus naturally.

Insects Repellent

Use essential oils as natural insect repellents, essential oils offer a chemical-free alternative to commercial bug sprays. Lemongrass, Citronella, Lavender and Eucalyptus oils are all natural insecticides.

Oil Diffuser

Diffuser requires water and few drops of your favourite oils, when it’s on the water and oils are broken down into a mist that is dispersed throughout the area.

Diffuser expels broken down essential oil particles into the room so you can reap the many benefits. While the aromas are amazing, there is much more to essential oils other than smelling good. Depending on the oil you use, diffusers can be used to help ease anxiety, lift up your spirits, help you focus on that project, or clear your sinuses.

Diffuser Locket pendant

Aromatherapy diffuser necklace or car kit will allow you to enjoy your favourite essential oil wherever you go.

The locket contains a tiny piece of pad which holds a few drops of oil that slowly diffuses through the ventilation holes on the front. The scent of your oil can last for several days, but you can always top up more oil to the pad after the oil has completely diffused.

2  -  Burn Candles

Candle can be used to help set the atmosphere and improve the ambience in many situations.

Aroma candles are made with essential oils and have aromatherapeutic properties providing well-being to the body, mind, and spirit.

Soy wax, beeswax and rapeseed wax are all used to make all-natural aromatherapy candles. It’s best to avoid candles made of paraffin wax. This type of wax is derived from petroleum and contains toxic chemicals, such as formaldehyde and benzene.

A real aromatherapy candle contains natural essential oils therefore they are slightly more expensive than regular candles, but they come with many more benefits than common fragranced candle. Organically made aromatherapy candles are healthy and healing.

3  -  Soak in the Bath

Adding a few drops of essential oil or ready bath salt blends to a warm bath is a relaxing and effective method of use for aromatherapy. The heat of the water creates vapours that can be inhaled, while the oils are soaking into the skin. Sit back, relax, and let the vapours sink in.

An aromatic bath releases tight muscles, relieves muscular pain, prevents and reduces stress and encourages better sleep.

4  -  Have a Massage

Due to their high concentration levels, essential oils are diluted with natural carrier oils, which are generally composed of olive, almond, soya, and grape-seed. These carrier oils are necessary to spreading the essential oils and avoid any negative skin reaction. The aromatherapy is then rubbed all the body and allowed to soak into the skin.

Massage Oil Candles

Some skilled massage therapists tend to use quality massage candles during aromatherapy session.

Massage oil candles are essentially soy candles enhanced with natural oils and cosmetic ingredients which provide excellent body moisturising capacity. Hence massage oil candles are fast gaining popularity for skin care uses. Massage oil candles light up the room and provide a lingering fragrance which creates a soothing delightful ambiance for the massage.
