Nowadays, we tend to take salt for granted. However, it is important to note that salt was once a very important substance, so much so that it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that it was one of the cornerstones without which civilization could not have risen up. Primarily, this was because salt could be used to preserve food, thus enabling humans to store surpluses as well as move them over long distances. However, it should also be noted that salt saw plenty of other uses, with examples ranging from seasoning to various medicinal applications. As such, salt became very valuable, which in turn, means that it became very significant to a wide range of cultures in a wide range of times and places.
For example, the term "salary" comes from the Roman salarium, which was the sum paid out to soldiers so that they could buy salt. There are some sources that take this further by claiming that the term "soldier" comes from the Roman salarium as well, but most mainstream sources take the position that it comes from solidus, which was the name of a pure gold coin that was issued under the Late Roman Empire. With that said, salt has often had a significance of a more spiritual sort, with an excellent example being its supposed ability of purification.
As a result, it is no wonder that some people in the present time still use salt as a way of getting rid of bad energy, though the exact method can see a fair amount of use from place to place. For example, some people have been known to stand by sprinkling salt in places of spiritual significance. In contrast, other people choose to mix salt with water, stand in the resulting solution, offer up a prayer to whichever higher power that they believe in, before flushing the solution plus the negative energy that it has soaked in so as to influence its harmful effect.
Both water and salt have long been revered as energetically cleansing substances. There are many ways to cleanse your aura, or energy body. But water and salt make a classic combo.
You can use regular salt for energy cleaning methods however it is recommended to choose your salt carefully. To get the best and most complete results sea salt of Celtic origin or pink Himalayan salt will be the most effective as these are natural slats.
To cleanse your body and aura from any negative or disharmonious energies the best way is to take bath or shower.
Fill in the tub with warm to hot water, add some salt, stirring the water to dissolve the salt. When it’s full and the temperature isn’t too hot, jump in to soak for anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes.
Once you’re in the shower, make sure you’ve set your intention. Then put a little sprinkle of the Celtic or Himalayan salt in your washcloth, or you can put it in your bare hands, but a wash cloth might be a lot easier. Then rub the salty washcloth, or your salty hands, all over your body before you cleanse all over with soap. As you rinse away the salt, let all of the unwanted energies drain away.
Fill a bucket or bowl with water and add rock salt. Then simply dip your feet in the bowl and keep them for 15-20 minutes. If you chant some mantras or prayers it makes this technique even more effective. When you’re done, you can wash your feet and let any remaining energetic debris simply flow down the drain. And also make sure to pour the remaining salt water down the drain.
On the whole, salted water sees a fair amount of use for managing positive energy and negative energy, meaning that it might interest those who are fascinated by alternative medicine, spiritual practices as well as similar things.
